USJ’s Teachers’ Professional Development Centre co-organizes a teacher-sharing session on supporting students’ physical and mental health titled “Observing the Heart through Art: Listening to Students’ Inner Thoughts.”
On 18 October, a teacher-sharing session titled “Observing the Heart through Art: Listening to Students’ Inner Thoughts,” was held at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ). This event was organised by the Creative Industries Promotion Association of St. Lazarus Church District and 10 Fantasia, in collaboration with the Teachers’ Professional Development Centre of USJ and the Macao Education Development Research Association, and sponsored by the Macau Foundation. Over 20 educators attended this sharing to learn observation, communication, and listening skills through art to understand students’ inner worlds better and to provide support.
The sharing session is part of the “Mind Garden” art education program. The program team consists of professionals in education, psychology, and fine arts. It focuses on promoting art education, fostering creative thinking, and encouraging multicultural integration. The program encourages participants to appreciate uniqueness through art and helps them develop self-awareness and stress relief methods.
USJ’s Teachers’ Professional Development Centre is committed to lifelong learning by assisting teachers in continuous professional development. Various courses were offered to support teacher-student-parent communication. For more details, please visit: https://www.usj.edu.mo/en/tpdc/courses/
