The University of Saint Joseph has established a partnership with the Portuguese Business Association aimed to strengthen collaboration between academia and business, and to promote innovation and research between Portugal, Macao and China.
The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) has established a partnership with the Portuguese Business Association (AEP). This initiative aims to strengthen collaboration between academia and business, and to promote innovation and research between Portugal, Macao and China.
The partnership was formally established with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between both institutions on 17 October 2024, during the presentation of the Global Diaspora Network and the Douro, Tâmega e Sousa Region, held at the Don Bosco Auditorium of the USJ Ilha Verde Campus.
The MoU was signed by Rev. Professor Stephen Morgan, Rector of USJ, and Paulo Dinis, Executive Director of AEP Foundation, and witnessed by Alexandre Leitão, Consul-General of Portugal in Macau and Hong Kong, and Pedro Machado, President of the Intermunicipal Council of the Tâmega e Sousa Community (CIM do Tâmega e Sousa), marking a significant milestone in this collaboration.
The collaboration aims to provide resource for students, researchers, and entrepreneurs, with the execution of future workshops, networking, and collaborative projects that bridge the gap between education and industry.

Cooperação entre a Universidade de São José (USJ) e a Associação Empresarial de Portugal (AEP)
A Universidade de São José (USJ) estabeleceu uma parceria com a Associação Empresarial de Portugal (AEP). Esta iniciativa tem como objectivo reforçar a colaboração entre o sector académico e empresarial, e promover a inovação e a investigação entre Portugal, Macau e China.
A parceria foi formalmente estabelecida com a assinatura de um Memorando de Entendimento (MoU) entre ambas as instituições no dia 17 de Outubro de 2024, durante a apresentação da Rede Global da Diáspora e da Região do Douro, Tâmega e Sousa, realizada no Auditório Dom Bosco do Campus Ilha Verde do USJ.
O Memorando de Entendimento foi assinado pelo Rev. Professor Stephen Morgan, Reitor do USJ, e por Paulo Dinis, Diretor Executivo da Fundação AEP, e testemunhado por Alexandre Leitão, Cônsul-Geral de Portugal em Macau e Hong Kong, e Pedro Machado, Presidente do Conselho Intermunicipal da Comunidade do Tâmega e Sousa (CIM do Tâmega e Sousa), assinalando um marco significativo nesta colaboração.
A pareceria visa fornecer recursos a estudantes, investigadores e empresários, com a realização de futuros workshops, criação de redes e projectos de colaboração que façam a ponte entre o ensino e a indústria.
