USJ and the the Guizhou Education University signed a MoU for strategic partnership on the 27th of November.
On the 27th of November 2024, a delegation from the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) led by the Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, Prof. Alexandre Lobo, visited the Guizhou Education University (GEU) in Guiyang. The delegation includes the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL), Prof. Jenny Phillips, the Head of the Department of Business Administration of FBL, Prof. Sergio Gomes, the USJ Head of the Institutional Development Office (IDO), Mr David Yang, and USJ MBA Alumni and FBL Visiting Academic Ms Karen Ao.
The delegation was welcomed by leaders of GEU and government officials from Guizhou, including Deputy Minister of the Guizhou Provincial United Front Work Department and Director of the Taiwan Affairs Office, Mr. Liu Rui; Executive Committee Member of the Guizhou Provincial CPPCC Mr. Ao Bailai; Deputy Minister of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Higher Education, Mr. Liang Xingfu, Party Secretary, Mr. Shi Peixin; Rector of GEU, Ms. Wei Wei among others.
During the visit, a signing ceremony between the two universities was held at the Shanshui Lecture Hall of the Yanshan College at GEU. USJ Vice-Rector Prof. Alexandre Lobo and Party Committee Member and GEU Vice-Rector Ms Ren Jie signed the MoU for strategic partnership, which leaders from the government of Guizhou witnessed.
After the signing ceremony, the delegation was led on a guided tour of the various Faculties of GEU, where Faculty members and students of GEU introduced their various award-wining AI technology development. In the afternoon, another MoU signing ceremony was held at the Business School of GEU between the School and the FBL. Faculty members from both parties discussed collaborative actions between the Business Faculties of the two Universities.
