Doctoral Talks on Campus: “The Doctoral Project: How Not To Get Lost And To Arrive At The Finish (And Win The Medal)?” will take place on 26 October at the USJ Conference Room.
ABOUT DOCTORAL TALKS ON CAMPUS:
Fostering transdisciplinary perspectives in thought, research and development in the doctoral and post-doctoral programmes of the University of Saint Joseph in Macao.
ABOUT THE TALK:
The talk seminar will cover several aspects related to the journey of a doctoral project. Is it a Marathon or a Sprint? The speaker will use his own experience as a former PhD candidate to enlighten essential elements and tips of this journey, such as choosing the research topic, navigating the literature review, crafting a solid research question, selecting the adequate methodology, analysing and interpreting results, reviewing and editing and defending. Moreover, the seminar will also embrace issues related to time management, avoiding burnout and how to stay motivated.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Dr. Dejan Marolov is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, Goce Delcev University, Stip, Republic of Macedoni and a founding member of the European Scientific Institute. He obtained his PhD in International Law from the European Center for Peace and Development (ECPD), affiliated with the University for Peace, established by the United Nations.
Numerous international journals and periodicals have published his law and international relations academic papers. He authored more than six monographs. Prof. Marolov has reviewed scientific articles for respectable international journals, including the reputable “European Scientific Journal”. He is a member of several domestic and foreign academic non-government organisations, and associations and part of the organising boards of over 50 international conferences and postdoctoral level workshops. He is a member of several international committees, including the Academic Council of the UN System, the Scientific Council of the Center for Legal and Economic Studies at the University of Azores in Ponta Delgada, Portugal, member of the Scientific Board of the International Center for Human Rights at the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria, Italy, to mention a few.
