Prof. Vincent Yang, Pro-Rector, gave a presentation on fighting corruption at ISRCL Annual Conference in San Francisco during 9th – 13th July, 2017



During 9th – 13th July, 2017, the International Society for the Reform of Criminal Law held its 30th International Conference in Westin St. Francis Hotel, San Francisco, USA.  ISRCL is an association of senior judges, prosecutors, lawyers, executives of police forces and correction services, and professors of law and criminal justice in many countries. Over 70 experts from North and South Americas, Europe, Asia (Singapore, Turkey, Macau, etc.), Africa, Oceania and International Association of Prosecutors gave presentations on a variety of topics of “Criminal Justice in the 21st Century” at this conference: new challenges to the rule of law, white collar crime including corporate criminal liability and public corruption, sentencing in white collar crime cases, cross-border white collar crime issues, roles of prosecutors, forensic science, police and corrections. Prof. Vincent Yang, Pro-Rector of USJ, delivered a presentation on “China’s War on Corruption – Progresses and Challenges in Implementing the G20 Anti-Corruption Action Plan 2017-2018” at Plenary 3. The presentation was mainly about China’s ongoing initiatives to apprehend fugitives and recover stolen asset from overseas through international cooperation, including landmark cases of extradition, deportation and “persuasion-surrenders”.
