USJ fashion design student was awarded a silver prize in the CPTTM
On the 30th of November 2018, our 3rd-year student of fashion design, Alina Garcia, was awarded the silver prize (second place) in the CPTTM 3D design contest. Alina Garcia’s design was inspired by the 3D animation movie “Spirited Away” (2001) directed by one of the greatest Japanese animation moviemaker Miyazaki Hayao. Her design refers to a world of fantasy that actually reflects uncertainties in the realistic world during “The lost decade” in Japan (2001-2010). Alina says that “people tend to go for astrology when facing uncertainties” and she adds: “geometric shapes were applied in the design since they are mostly used in astrology and symbolizes opportunities and hopes”. The design speaks “Where there is a will, there is a way”.The Award Ceremony was held on the 30th of November 2018 at the CPPTM Head Office Auditorium, in Macau.
