On November 2nd, 2019, PIRO organised three groups of colleagues from various administrative units and from the University’s ISE to participate in the 10th Edition of Macau Eco TrailHiker.

The Public and International Relations Office (PIRO) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) organised three groups of colleagues from various administrative units and from the University’s Institute of Science and Environment to participate in the 10th Edition of Macau Eco TrailHiker. The event, which took place on Saturday, November 2nd, 2019, had around 2,600 participants and 650 teams competing in three race categories. In these races, participants ran along different natural trails in Coloane, exploring the greener side of Macao. USJ’s teams participated in the 20km corporate challenge as well as the 10km fun family course.

By participating in this initiative, relationships amongst colleagues were strengthened and public awareness of ecological and environmental issues and the need for an eco-friendlier lifestyle in Macao was raised. Additionally, the raised funds will go into supporting the operational expenses of community event beneficiaries, such as The Cradle of Hope Association and the Salvation Army – Hong Kong and Macau Command.
