SED Promoted Wellbeing and Health Event on 29 November

On 29 November 2019, the School of Education (SED) organised a Wellbeing and Health Event that was funded by Office for Student and Alumni Affairs (OSAA) to provide opportunities for students and staff to gain an overall awareness of various aspects of personal wellbeing. The objectives of this event were to promote a balanced, healthy lifestyle for the personal sustainability of USJ students and staff.

This event consisted of two parallel sessions for 60 to 90 minutes: “Zumba” and “Healthy Smoothie Workshop”. Zumba is a Latin-inspired group dance workout which helps burning calories and toning up. This was a fun and great introduction to an effective way to improve personal health. Whilst the interactive workshop, participants had a chance to sample a smoothie featuring seasonal, fresh produce and other healthy sources of protein, fibre, and fats. Participants learnt about the benefits of wheatgrass & organic produce and why a smoothie can be better than a cold-pressed juice.
