Daniel is currently a PhD candidate at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Education pursuing a Doctoral degree in Education at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ). He received a Bachelor degree in Foreign Languages and Literature from National Chung Hsing University in 2005, and a Master of Arts degree in Translation at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2006.

With twelve years of teaching experiences in secondary and higher education, Daniel is researching the arts-based creative pedagogy for teaching English to speakers of other languages (TESOL) in Macau Secondary school. He presented a systematic review on teaching English through drama in the 6th International Conference in Education sponsored by the Higher Education Fund (FES).

Being recognised from the Scholarship programme, Daniel moves onto the second phase of the mixed-method research to study how drama-in-education is used by secondary TESOL teachers globally. This research will also give local TESOL teachers more practical ideas about drama-in-education as a creative pedagogy and, more importantly, an opportunity to reflect on their teaching philosophy via understanding their perceptions.
