FBL and Sustaincia have already developed fruitful cooperation with many interactions and activities. This MOU aims to express the willingness to strengthen collaboration and promote sustainable development, education and technology transfer.
On 2 December 2022, the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), Prof Jenny Phillips, and the President of the Sustainable Development Association, Mr. Terence Lee, signed a MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING (MOU) at the Ilha Verde Campus.
FBL and Sustaincia have already developed fruitful cooperation with many interactions and activities. This MOU aims to express the willingness to strengthen collaboration and promote sustainable development, education and technology transfer. Areas of cooperation will include trainings sustainable development, science popularization events, support for startups incubation and acceleration, and research in the areas of biotech and neuroscience in business, fintech and blockchain development, smart city and property management; computing hardware and IoT Applications; cultural and design industry sustainability.
Currently, the two parties are already collaborating on two projects, including installing gateways across USJ campuses to ensure good IoT LoRaWan coverage and Litcarga EV chargers as a research platform for charger user research to help encourage more EV adoption.
Mr. Lee expressed that the expectation in this cooperation with USJ-FBL is that we can combine industry and academia to create grass-root sustainable development research projects that benefit all stakeholders.
Prof. Phillips added that the collaboration is an integral part of an overall Sustainable Business Series under the FBL, which directs the Faculty’s teaching and research to look at each business entity as a social solution and a mechanism for society’s sustainable development.
The MoU was signed with the witness of FBL Faculty members including Prof.Alexandre Lobo、Prof.Alessandro Lampo、Senior Lecturer-Emil Marques
