USJ student joined the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology’s first-ever Unicorn Day on the 23rd of May, 2023.
Representatives from the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) joined the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) ‘s first-ever Unicorn Day on the 23rd of May, 2023, which had nearly 100 innovators. The event gathered many entrepreneurs and unicorn founders who shared their success stories and explored partnership and collaboration opportunities. The visit was sponsored by the Bank of China Macau Branch.
One of the participants, Keven Sun HaoXuan from the Bachelor Degree of Communication and Media, said the event was a rare opportunity for him to learn from successful people. He was impressed by the many start-ups and listed companies founded by HKUST graduates who used AI in various areas that could make life easier in the future. Keven also hopes to participate in similar events in the future to gain further insights and learn from the experiences of successful people.
HKUST is the first university in Hong Kong to invest in entrepreneurship, and the Unicorn Day showcased innovations from all participating start-ups. The event also hosted four pitching sessions to potential investors, highlighting the university’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and innovation.
