The Institute of Science and Environment (ISE) and Green Committee at USJ, together with Sands Eco Ambassadors successfully organised another coastal cleanup on 14 October 2023. The event saw strong participation from USJ staff, students, the USJ Green Committee, Sands Eco Ambassadors, and community members.
This activity is part of the regular cleanup drive of ISE. It aligns with the project “Wetland Ecosystems: A Nature-based Solution for Coastal Protection and Plastic Pollution Entrapment in Macao” funded by the Drop by Drop project, which aims to assess plastic pollution along Macao’s coast and explore the potential of wetland ecosystems to defend against coastal threats and trap plastic pollution naturally.
This successful cleanup shows the power of community engagement in protecting our environment. It’s great to see everyone working together to make Macao’s coast cleaner and our oceans safer!
