USJ’s Bachelor of Architectural Studies bamboo pavilion “AVEM FORMA” wins 2nd prize in Structural Design and 3rd prize in Architectural Design at the 2nd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) International Colleges Design and Construction Competition.
USJ’s Bachelor of Architectural Studies bamboo pavilion “AVEM FORMA” wins 2nd prize in Structural Design and 3rd prize in Architectural Design at the 2nd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) International Colleges Design and Construction Competition.
The Award Ceremony took place at Nansha Birds Park, in Guangzhou, on 8 December 2019. The competition was co-hosted by the School of Architecture of South China University of Technology and Nansha Birds Park in Guangzhou, and it’s a platform for leading universities from Guangdong, Hong Kong, Macao, and ASEAN International Colleges to compete every year in the design and build of innovative bamboo pavilions.
“AVEM FORMA” was the chosen project to participate in the final competition – 2nd Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area-ASEAN International University Bamboo Design and Construction Competition – where USJ’s Bachelor of Architecture Studies team got the chance to build their structure at Nansha Birds Park and compete with the finalists from other countries’ universities, being awarded at the end with 2nd prize in Structural Design and 3rd prize in Architectural Design.

About USJ’s Architecture Programmes:
The University of Saint Joseph’s (USJ) Architecture Programmes—Bachelor of Architectural Studies and Master of Architecture—are designed to empower a new generation of architects committed to improving the built environment and leading through meaningful design innovation. Students are challenged to generate innovative architectural and urban forms created from a public perspective that contribute to cities and their citizens’ futures by improving the design of the daily spaces where human activities occur.
