Young entrepreneurs from Hong Kong and Macao shared their experiences of the support they receive from Hong Kong Cyberport and StartmeupHK.
On 28 November 2023, the fourth year students of the University of Saint Joseph’s (USJ) Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) programme were invited to an information session on Start-ups & entrepreneurial support programmes in Hong Kong at the headquarters of the Macau Young Entrepreneur Incubation Center (MYEIC). The information session was jointly organised by MYEIC and Hong Kong Cyberport. The attendance of USJ was made possible by the generous support of Bank of China Macau Branch.
The information session consisted of a series of presentations on the available support programmes linked to MYEIC. These were presented by the panel of speakers including Mr. CY Lui, Senior Manager of the INVESTHK StartmeupHK programme, Mr. Steven Lam, Senior Manager of the Entrepreneurship Office of the Hong Kong Cyberport, as well as Ms. San Choi, Deputy Director of the Macau Young Entrepreneur Incubation Center, who examined the entrepreneurial environment in Hong Kong and Macao.
In addition, a panel discussion co-hosted by Ms Gigi Fan of the Macau Young Entrepreneur Incubation Center and Ms Flora Yueng, Senior Manager of Entrepreneurship at Hong Kong Cyberport, featured local and Hong Kong founders who shared their invaluable insights. These included Mr Lap Chan, Product Development Director of MBOX Macau, Ms Nicky Wong, Co-Founder of Yorkshire Online Academy and Mr Cyrus Chow, Founder and CEO of oneCharge.
The USJ Faculty of Business and Law aims to promote the sharing of authentic regional entrepreneurial experiences of young local entrepreneurs to encourage participation and knowledge within the startup environment of Macao and the Greater Bay Area of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.
