USJ avidly participates in the BMI Education Fairs and High School Tours, advocating for student success and reaching hundreds of students in Vietnam and Thailand.
From 5th to 14th March, 2024, the BMI Southeast Asia International Education fairs and events were held in Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Bangkok, connecting students that travelled from all parts of the countries to meet with universities globally.
The USJ delegation led by Prof. Álvaro Barbosa, Vice-rector for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs with Ms. Ivy Tran, Head of Vietnam Recruitment and Ms. Jenny Hong, International Affairs Officer, engaged with hundreds of enthusiastic high schoolers and university students during the 3-day fair organised by the Times Higher Education (THE) and Vietnam Ministry of Education & Training (CIEC), discussing the USJ curriculum, its unique learning model and network of opportunities and scholarship availability for students from ASEAN countries, simultaneously advocating for the distinct cultural profile of Macau as a top-tier destination for study abroad. In 2022, USJ and Católica (UCP) jointly participated in the fairs, establishing grounds for reaching prospective students from across Southeast Asia.
A series of meetings with academic counsellors and high school principals were also held midway through the event series, allowing USJ delegates to receive insights on the current further education trends and understanding the status quo of student needs. USJ continues to offer a holistic case-by-case admissions process that provides a heightened platform for student voice and recognises the critical role counsellors play in bridging the information gap between students and higher education institutions.
The last leg of the high school tours concluded in Bangkok, where delegates visited international schools such as the Bangkok International Preparatory & Secondary School and the American School of Bangkok Green Valley. Currently ranked 1st in Macao in the THE Impact Rankings, USJ is dedicated to reaching global citizens and aspiring individuals across Asia and beyond to provide an inclusive environment and international level of education and practical training for its students.
