USJ Macao Participates in QUALIFICA and FUTURÁLIA Education Fairs in Portugal, Connecting with Students and Higher Education Professionals

Throughout March, USJ Macao avidly participated in the Qualifica Education Fair in Porto and Futurália Education Fair in Lisbon, Portugal.
The University of Saint Joseph Macao (USJ Macao) avidly participated in the Qualifica Education Fair held in Porto from 6th to 9th March, and Futurália Education Fair held in Lisbon, Portugal, from 20th to 23rd March.
Qualifica and Futurália are popular education exhibitions in Portugal, bringing together more than 350 school visits and 85,000 visitors yearly. Thousands of young people visited both education fairs seeking study abroad options.
At Qualifica, USJ Macao was the only university from Macao, China and Asia represented; USJ Macao received numerous visitors from interested high school students, school counselors and teachers from Porto city, who wished to pursue a higher degree in Asia.
For the second consecutive year USJ Macao, participated in Futurália education fairs. Besides having a solo booth, the university also participated in a joint consortium booth dedicated to the Macao SAR Higher Education Institutions, organised by the Education Youth and Development Bureau (DSEDJ).
The delegation of USJ Macao, led by Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs, Professor Álvaro Barbosa, included the Head of Delegation of USJ Macao in Portugal Mr Francisco Peixoto, and team members of the International Affairs Office (IAO) – Manager Mrs Ana Paula Mota, and Officer Ms Teresinha Fok.
At the Futurália exhibition, USJ Macao had the opportunity to welcome the visit of the Representative of the accredited Embassies of the Portuguese Speaking Countries in Portugal, namely, H.E. Ambassador of East Timor, Ms Isabel Amaral Guterres, H.E. Ambassador of the Guinea-Bissau, Mr Artur Silva and the Second Secretary of the Angola Embassy, Ms. Makiesse Guilherme.

The purpose of these visits was to foster close relations with the Embassies of Portuguese Speaking Countries in Portugal and to share USJ Macao what the University can provide to the students of Portuguese-speaking countries.
Overall, the University’s participation in these events are to promote the European-style learning environment that USJ Macao can provide to international students and professionals simultaneously in close connection with and in Macao SAR and the People’s Republic of China. USJ Macao stands out as a diversified University with a reputable international platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries.
