Professor Álvaro Barbosa, Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ Macao), recently participated in the 3rd RNEC Congress – National Network for Cultural Studies. The event, organised by ISCAP – Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto, took place on July 11th and 12th, 2024.
Professor Álvaro Barbosa, Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ Macao), recently participated in the 3rd RNEC Congress – Portuguese National Network for Cultural Studies. The event, hosted by the Polytechnic Institute of Porto, was organised by ISCAP – Instituto Superior de Contabilidade e Administração do Porto, and took place on July 11th and 12th, 2024.
The RNEC Congress brought together researchers, educators, and industry professionals to discuss the latest trends and challenges in cultural studies. The event provided a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue and the exchange of innovative ideas.
During the congress, Professor Álvaro delivered a keynote address entitled “University Internationalisation Strategies and Models: Benchmarking and Cultural Impact.” The presentation focused on the evolving landscape of internationalisation in higher education, exploring best practices and the cultural implications of various models and strategies, by benchmarking the USJ Interntionalisation developments against the 6th Global Survey on Internationalization recently Published by the International Association of Universities.
The 3rd RNEC Congress organiser ISCAP is a partner institution of USJ Macao through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This collaboration has recently been strengthened with the signing of an agreement to jointly develop a doctoral program. This partnership further underscores USJ’s commitment to fostering international academic exchange and collaborative research.
