The USJ Macao proudly announces a remarkable achievement by its Bachelor of Design students at the “DID2024 – Dongguan Cup Industrial Design Competition, Hong Kong and Macau: Innovative Design Match”, organised by the Dongguan Municipal People’s Government.
The University of Saint Joseph (USJ), Macao, proudly announces a remarkable achievement by its students at the “DID2024 – Dongguan Cup Industrial Design Competition, Hong Kong and Macau: Innovative Design Match”, a competitive event organised by the Dongguan Municipal People’s Government. The awarding ceremony took place on the 12th of November 2024, in Artyzen Grand Lapa Macau. Representatives from the municipality of Dongguan, jury members, teachers and the winners attended the event.
Among the awardees from Hong Kong and Macao, students from the Bachelor’s programme of Design at the USJ Faculty of Arts and Humanities, stood out with several distinctions:
- Gold Award: Ray Ka Long Wong, for his sustainable urban furniture design project “Ecos+.”
- Silver Award: Daniel Barros, for his STEM design project “The Shape of Water,” and Ray Ka Long Wong, for his furniture design project “R32.”
- Bronze Award: Zach Cheong, for his industrial design project “N-Flow,” and Bernadete Bagtas, for her interactive cardboard game “Green Guardians.”
- Excellent Honour Award: Anabela Ho Castilho, for her urban furniture project “Place,” and Venus Lou, for her lamp design project “Lumos Blossom.”
USJ professors including Professor Carlos Sena Caires (PhD), Filipa Simões (MA), and Laura Mimini (MA), were honoured with the Excellent Guidance Teacher award for their outstanding mentorship for the winning students.
Through its Bachelor’s and Master’s programmes in Design, the University of Saint Joseph Macao, as well as its Faculty of Arts and Humanities, reflects the ongoing commitment to excellence in education and to preparing the students for the challenges of emerging markets in Macao, the Greater Bay Area, and beyond.
