In a significant step towards fostering international collaboration, USJ Macao signed a multilateral MoU with Universidade Nacional Timor Lorosa’E (UNTL), Guangdong Huafa-China Construction New Technology Investment Holding Co., Ltd, and Hong Kong KaiXuan International Investment Development Limited.



In a significant step towards fostering international collaboration, the University of Saint Joseph (USJ Macao) has signed a multilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Guangzhou with Universidade Nacional Timor Lorosa’E (UNTL), Guangdong Huafa-China Construction New Technology Investment Holding Co., Ltd, and Hong Kong KaiXuan International Investment Development Limited on December 2, 2024.

The signing ceremony took place on the same day as the “1st China-Timor-Leste Cooperation and Development International Seminar and the Forum on the Development of Timor-Leste and Its Relations with Major Powers,” attended by USJ’s Vice-Rector for External Affairs and Institutional Development, Prof. Shuguang Zhang. 

The MoU, formalized with the participation of UNTL’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Joao Soares Martins; Guangdong Huafa’s General Manager, Zhang Liang; and Hong Kong KaiXuan’s Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mei Heli, aims to enhance collaborative opportunities across various sectors. 

Key objectives of the MoU include: Joint professional training initiatives; Collaborative research projects; Institutional cooperation programs; Exchange opportunities for students, faculty, researchers, and technical-administrative staff; Development of degree-bearing courses in specialised fields. Furthermore, the partnership will facilitate applications for national and international programs and projects, thereby strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation and advancing the goals outlined in the MoU.
