Illustration, as an art emphasis on narrative, is also a more liberal form of contemporary art, the graphic art of illustrations finds the artists not only relating a personal point of view, but more importantly, describing a kind of spirit.

自16世紀中葉始，澳門成為了世界貿易中的一個特殊驛站，翻開了它作為世界文化交流史的傳奇歷史。小小的澳門半島形似蓮花，僅一條形似“蓮花莖”的沙堤與大陸相連。如今，隨著澳門新填海區的逐漸擴大，澳門這座寧靜的南中國濱海小城又搖身成為了“世界休閒旅遊中心”，成了一座充滿喧鬧的人工浮島。越來越多來自世界不同地域的人在此彙聚，“過客”與“原鄉”混雜在一起。商業和娛樂就是當代澳門這座“蓮島”浮世萬象創造的重要動力。

Macao has become a particular post of the world trade and opened a legendary chapter as part of the cultural exchange history of the world since the middle of 16th century. In a shape of lotus, the tiny Macau peninsula is linked with the mainland China through a “lotus stem” of dike. Now, with the gradual expansion of the newly reclaimed area, this quiet coastal city of Macao in southern …China, has suddenly become the “World Leisure Tourism Center”, and a bustling artificial floating island. More and more people from different regions of the world gathered here, “passing travelers” mixing together with “natives”.

插畫是一種講求敘述性的平面視覺藝術表現形式。作為一種更為自由的當代藝術形式，當代插畫的創作者不僅在敘述個人的觀點，更多的是在敘述一種精神。

此次插畫大賽，旨在通過徵集澳門具有原創性的當代插畫作品，去發掘屬於澳門這座“蓮島”的現世故事，將有關於這座城市的故事真正留存下來，通過插畫作品將個體記憶轉化成為留存城市記憶的一種獨特形式。於此同時，舉辦澳門首屆當代插畫旨在有責任為年輕人創建一個良好的文化交流平臺，以更有力的推動澳門藝術設計走向更廣闊的市場，從中發掘有潛力的青年插畫師，使年輕學子在求學成長階段以至職業生涯開始，得到社會外界的更多關注；同時亦讓世界瞭解澳門的插畫現況，並為澳門積蓄藝術設計人才資源，配合澳門文創產業之長遠發展。

The Illustrations Competition aims at exploring secular stories of this “lotus island” and retaining the true story of the city by collecting original contemporary illustrations of Macao, thus the individual memory can be transformed into a unique form of retained memories of the city. Meanwhile, as the first contest of its kind here, it is responsible to create a good cultural exchange platform for young people, vigorously promoting the Macao Art and Design to a broader market, tapping the potential of the young illustrators that on the one hand they may gain much more attention from the outside at the beginning stage of their careers or even when they are at school, and on the other the status of Macao illustrations could be better known by the world, and accumulating human resources of art design to meet the long-term development of cultural and creative industries in Macao.

參賽資格：

i. 澳門就讀大專院校學生；

ii. 持澳門特別行政區永久及非永久身份證者。

Entry Qualifications:

i. Macao college students;

ii. Participants who hold the permanent and non-permanent identity card of the Macao Special Administrative Region.

報名費：澳門幣40元/件，澳門幣80元/系列。同一系列作品不得超過6件。送選作品數量不限。

Entry Fees:

MOP $ 40/piece, MOP $80/ series;

A series should consist of not more than six pieces of work. There’s no limit to the number of works selected.

i. 檔案格式：

A. 圖案解析度：每個檔案不大於A4(210mm x 297mm)，RGB，200 dpi，jpg格式 (品質﹕12) ，圖片最小邊不小於550px；

B. 檔案名稱：英文姓 + 名 + 編號 + .jpg；

C. 例：(第一張：chan_kai_yin_01.jpg) (第二張：chan_kai_yin_02.jpg) 。

iii. 作品準則：

A. 作品必須在2011年之後創作；

B. 作品根據比賽主題創作。風格、表現手法內容不限、手繪、數碼插畫作品（含圖書插圖、繪本、塗鴉、遊戲原畫）均可；

C. 報名表中所有欄目均需準確填寫，以利評選作業；

D. 作品版權必須為參賽者擁有；

E. 主辦機構日後會另發函邀請入圍的參賽者提交作品高解析度檔案，以作展覽印刷之用。

F. 評選標準：

a. 視覺表現的原創性；

b. 媒體形式的獨特性；

c. 表現手法的藝術性。

iii. Requirements:

A. All works must have been created after 2011;

B. All works should be created based on the theme of the competition. There’s no limits to style, techniques of expression, content, and so on; and both hand-painted and digital illustrations (including book illustration, picture book, graffiti, original painting for games) are acceptable;

C. All the blanks in the Application Form should be accurately filled to facilitate the selection;

D. The copyright must be owned by the participants;

E. The organizers will send another letter of invitation to shortlisted participants to submit high-resolution file of the works to print for exhibition purposes.

b. Unique form of media

c. Artistic quality of the expression techniques

Wang Min (Committee President)

He is Dean of the School of Design, Central Academy of Fine Arts, Cheung Kong Scholar Chair Professor, internationally renowned graphic designer, member of Alliance Graphique International (AGI), and president of AGI China. He once taught at School of Art and Design, Yale University and was the senior art and design director of the world’s largest publishing software company Adobe, and the image and landscape art director of Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games.

Zheng Dehua (committee member)

He is a famous historic culture scholar, Ph.D of the University of Hong Kong, member of the China branch of the United Nations Intangible Cultural Heritage. He was the senior planning editor of Joint Publishing (H.K.) Co., Ltd. and director of the China Culture Research Center at University of Macau. Currently he is an Emeritus Professor at Department of Chinese, Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Macau.

香港國際品牌人偶設計師、猿創作人偶品牌創辦人及創作總監。曾任2009年—2011年香港插畫師協會會長。

He is a Hong Kong-based international brand figure designer, the brand of “Apex”founder of creative director of Winson original Creation. He was the former President of Hong Kong Society of Illustrators from 2009 to 2011.
