University of Saint Joseph is co-organising a series of activities with the Consulate-General of Portugal in Macau and Hong Kong in September and October, 2022.
ABOUT THE EVENT:
The exhibition “Back to the Steps which were taken – José Saramago 1922 – 2022”, will open at the University of Saint Joseph on next Monday, 17th of October, at 7 pm, at the Kent Wong Exhibition Gallery, where it can be visited until the 28th of the same month. The exhibition, which was inaugurated on the 29th of September at the Portuguese Institute of the Orient (IPOR), with the presence of His Excellency, the Consul-General of Portugal in Macau and Hong Kong, Mr Paulo Cunha Alves. The exhibition there is accessible until the 14th of October, and in November, it will be exhibited at the Macau Portuguese School.
Also, at the Kent Wong Exhibition Gallery of the University of Saint Joseph, the documentary show “Saramago’s Heirs” will take place between the 17th and the 21st of October, at 7pm. Each documentary, which is dedicated to each of the winners of the José Saramago Prize, an important literary distinction awarded to Portuguese writers, has a duration of about 25 minutes and will be presented according to the following schedule:

18.10.2022 – Gonçalo M. Tavares e Valter Hugo Mãe;
19.10.2022 – João Tordo e Andréa del Fuego;
20.10.2022 – Ondjaki e Bruno Amaral;
21.10.2022 – Julián Fuks e Afonso Reis Cabral.
On the 26th of October, at 7 pm, the roundtable “Saramago’s Heirs” will take place, with the virtual presence of writers, winners of the José Saramago Prize, Paulo José Miranda and Andréa del Fuego and also Guilhermina Gomes, the winner of the homonymous Nobel Prize for Portuguese literature. The roundtable will be held by Professor José Manuel Simões and will take place, like previous events, at the Kent Wong Exhibition Gallery of the University of Saint Joseph.
RESUMO:
A exposição “Voltar aos Passos que foram dados – José Saramago 1922 – 2022”, terá a sua abertura na Universidade de São José na próxima segunda-feira, dia 17 de outubro, às 19h , na Galeria de Exposições Kent Wong, onde poderá ser visitada até ao dia 28 do mesmo mês. A exposição, que foi inaugurada no passado dia 29 de setembro no IPOR, com a presença de S.Ex.ª, o Cônsul Geral de Portugal em Macau e em Hong Kong, Embaixador Paulo Cunha Alves, e que aí poderá ser vista até ao dia 14, passará durante o mês de novembro para o espaço da Escola Portuguesa de Macau.
Na USJ, também na Galeria de Exposições Kent Wong, decorrerá a mostra de documentários “Herdeiros de Saramago”, entre os dias 17 e 21 de outubro, às 19h. Cada documentário, que está dedicado a cada um dos vencedores do Prémio José Saramago, uma importante distinção literária atribuída a escritores de língua portuguesa, conta com uma duração de cerca de 25 minutos e obedecerá ao seguinte calendário de apresentação:

No dia 26 de outubro, às 19h, decorrerá a mesa-redonda “Herdeiros de Saramago”, com a presença virtual dos escritores, vencedores do Prémio José Saramago, Paulo José Miranda e Andréa del Fuego e, a representar o prémio homónimo do Nobel da literatura portuguesa, Guilhermina Gomes. A mesa terá moderação do Professor Doutor José Manuel Simões e decorrerá, como os anteriores eventos, na Galeria de Exposições Kent Wong, da Universidade de São José.
