The Language and Linguistics Seminar: “Contemporary Sinograms Rooted in Chinese Tradition”, organised by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, will take place on October, 25 at Don Bosco Auditorium, USJ Ilha Verde Campus.
ABOUT THE SEMINAR:
The aim of Contemporary Sinograms rooted in Chinese Tradition is to analyze some of the most commonly used characters of contemporary Chinese thought, related to the ideological main stream based on the philosophical tradition of the country.
Keywords: Modernization, Dream, Belt and Road Initiative, Patriotism.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER:
Ana Cristina Alves holds a PhD in Philosophy of History, Culture and Religion from the University of Lisbon, that she received in 2005. She coordinates the Educational and Chinese-Portuguese translation activities at Macau Scientific and Cultural Center in Lisbon. In 2022, she published a poetic text titled Visitations, and is also the author of the book titled Chinese, Culture, A Western Perspective. In 2021, she was the first winner of the A-Má Prize, awarded by the Casa de Macau Foundation.
