Join us at the exhibition showcasing the diverse flora and fauna that make the Macao wetlands extraordinary!
The Institute of Science and Environment, in collaboration with the Department of Media, Art, and Technology at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, University of Saint Joseph (USJ), proudly presents the Macao’s Wetland Treasures: 2024 Biodiversity Photography Exhibition. This event showcases the unique biodiversity within Macao’s wetlands, spotlighting the diverse flora and fauna that make these wetlands extraordinary.
Key Exhibition Highlights:
- Photography Competition: Photographs from the Wetland Biodiversity Photography competition, taken between January and August 2024, will be featured, showcasing the diverse life forms found within the wetlands. Alongside the top 100 printed photographs, over 500 submissions will be displayed digitally, creating an interactive experience that allows visitors to better appreciate the beauty and importance of these ecosystems.
- Immersive Experience: Visitors will also be treated to an immersive experience of Macao’s wetlands through natural soundscapes, enhancing the exhibition and offering a unique connection to these habitats. This multi-sensory approach connects audiences to the environment in a dynamic and engaging way.
- Importance of Wetland Conservation: Through this stunning collection, the exhibition seeks to raise awareness about the crucial role of wetlands in maintaining environmental balance and the urgent need to protect these habitats for future generations.
This work is organized within the context of the project “One Drop at a Time: Exploring Biodiversity in Macao’s Urban Wetland Ecosystems and the Role of Water Stewardship” supported by the Drop by Drop project of the WASH Foundation and Las Vegas Sands.
