ABOUT THE TALK
This lecture introduces the unique evolution of detached housing projects in contemporary Japan, and examines them as collaborative experiments that aim to redefine the “five points of architecture.”
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Tohru Horiguchi is an architectural researcher who lives in Kyoto and teaches at Ritsumeikan University in the Architecture and Urban Design Department, where he also coordinates its new graduate program, known as Ritsumeikan SDP. He has also taught internationally, giving workshops and lectures together with the well-known Japanese architect Hitoshi Abe or by himself.
