Apr
The Public Lecture “Public Art and Urban Atmosphere” will take place on 9 April at the Don Bosco Auditorium.
About the Talk:
Rebekka developed her own personal practice focusing on videos and video installations, some of which have been displayed in public places. Her artistic work suggests a translation of metaphorical concepts into audiovisual experiences, uncovering hidden perceptions and evaluations in everyday language. This conversation with the artist will be based on Rebekka’s experience as a sound and video artist, her projects in and about Macau, as well as her imagining of Macau’s urban atmosphere.
About the Speaker:
Rebekka Friedli (Switzerland), born 1989, lives and works in Bern. She holds a BA in Film from the Zurich University of the Arts and an MA in Fine Arts from the Lucerne School of Art and Design. She is co-founder of Kollektiv Beton, a collective exploring immersive formats between cinema and video art. Her work has been exhibited in national art museums, public spaces, galleries and festivals in both national and international contexts.
She currently is an artist in residence in Macau, hosted by Ox Warehouse. Her art residency is supported by Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia Shanghai.
