The USJ Green Committee is hosting the Public Lecture “Winning for All – From Award Shows to Achieving SDGs” presented by Dr. Marissa Chantamas on 15 November, at 6:30PM in the Don Bosco auditorium.
About the Lecture:
Advertising award shows play an important role in signaling to the advertising industry and their clients regarding the sentiments that should be addressed in their communications. In 2015 the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity launched the Glass Lions to celebrate works that addressed issues of equality. In that same year, the United Nations introduced the 17 Sustainable Development Goals to ensure the peace and prosperity for the people and the planet. In 2018 the Cannes Lions introduced the Sustainable Development Goals Lions. The goal is to celebrate works that address the issue of people, planet, and peace. The celebrated works that win awards send a message to the industry that doing good can have positive benefits for the brand. It is a win-win situation where the advertising industry can use its creativity and innovativeness to make real impact as the world faces challenges resulting from a global crisis of our own creation.
