Join the USJ & Britcham joint World Environment Day 2022 celebrations on June 5 at the Ilha Verde Campus.

The Green Committees of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) and the British Chamber of Commerce in Macao (Britcham) are excited to share an afternoon of activities and learning experiences to encourage awareness and environmental protection with this year’s theme “Only One Earth”.

Participating vendors will showcase their food and beverages, sustainable products and green exhibits throughout the event.

2:00 pm – Event Start
2:30 pm –  Opening Speech by the Chairman of Britcham, Mr. Keith Buckley, and Rector of USJ, Rev. Prof. Stephen Morgan.
2:35 pm – Talk on Macau for Waste Reduction by Annie Lao, Macao Eco-activist
3:15 pm – Talk on Microplastics: an overview of the environmental and health risks by Sara Cardoso, Post-doctoral researcher at ISE/USJ
4:00 pm – Talk on Mangroves as a source of conventional plastic degrading and bioplastic producing bacteria by Saidu Bashir, PhD student at ISE/USJ
4:30 pm – Spelling sprint activity by Sustaincia.org
5:00 pm – Close
