Short Bio

Jack Hsiao is an accomplished academic staff member with a robust background in primary and early childhood education. He earned his degree in Primary and Early Childhood Education from California State University, followed by a Master of Arts in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (MA TESOL) from the University of Nottingham. Additionally, he holds a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA). With over 20 years of extensive experience in language education across multiple countries, including China, Macau, New Zealand, Qatar, and Taiwan, Jack has developed a keen focus on English for both general and academic purposes. His expertise also encompasses multicultural communication, making him an invaluable resource in diverse educational settings. Jack is particularly skilled in designing and delivering professional development courses specifically tailored for teachers of English as an additional language, primarily aimed at primary and preschool children. His wealth of experience ensures that his training programs are effective, engaging, and relevant to contemporary educational needs. Currently, Jack is furthering his expertise in language education through doctoral research at the University of St Andrews. His ongoing studies aim to deepen his understanding and contribute to the field of language education, reaffirming his commitment to lifelong learning.
