The “Wuxi Vocational Institute of Commerce and University of Saint Joseph Teacher Exchange Programme” opening ceremony was held on 24 September 2021.
The “Wuxi Vocational Institute of Commerce and University of Saint Joseph Teacher Exchange Programme”, jointly organised by the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), Wuxi Vocational Institute of Commerce and the National Conditions Education Association (Macau), held its opening ceremony on the morning of 24 September 2021, at the USJ Ilha Verde Campus.
A total of 20 teachers from the Wuxi Vocational Institute of Commerce took part in the exchange programme to study at the USJ.
Prof. Keith Morrison, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of USJ, welcomed all the participants and introduced the training course during the opening ceremony. He added that the programme’s topic is “very timely, as it concerns the development of quality teaching and quality teachers in the important field of post-school education” and that USJ shares a common interest in promoting such qualities.
Prof. Zhou Bingyang, Vice Principal of Wuxi Vocational Institute of Commerce, also shared warm wishes to USJ for its 25th anniversary and exchanged souvenirs with Prof. Zhang Shuguang, Vice-Rector for External Affairs and Institutional Development of USJ.
This cooperation has deepened the intention of establishing a Memorandum of Cooperation between the two higher education institutes to develop more future academic training exchange programmes.
Attendees of this event include Mr Wang Haitao, Chairman of National Conditions Education Association (Macau); Prof. Álvaro Barbosa, Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Strategic Development of USJ; and Prof. Elisa Monteiro, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Education of USJ, responsible for the curriculum of this exchange programme.
