A delegation from Guangdong University of Technology visited USJ to discuss cooperation

A delegation from Guangdong University of Technology visited the University of Saint Joseph on the 27th of March and conducted in-depth discussions aimed to deepen education and scientific research collaboration.
In order to deepen the cooperation in education and scientific research in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and promote innovative development, a delegation from Guangdong University of Technology (GDUT) visited the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao on the 27th of March. The two parties discussed cooperation in design and neuroscience and other areas, and jointly explored new paths for the coordinated development of higher education in the Greater Bay Area.
The meeting was held in the morning at the Ilha Verde Campus of USJ. Members of the Guangdong University of Technology delegation included Professor Qiu Xueqing, President of GDUT, Secretary of the Party Committee Zhan Yong, Professor Cai Yanpeng, Director of the University Development and Planning Office, Professor Huang Rong, Director of the Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs Office, Secretary Yang Xiaofan of the Party Committee of the School of Materials and Energy, Professora Wang Juan, Deputy Dean of the School of Art and Design, and Miss Zhong Yumeng, Deputy Director of the Experimental Center of the School of Art and Design.
The two parties discussed the cooperation implementation plan during the meeting, and the delegation also visited the Faculty of Arts and Humanities to learn about the teaching and research facilities of the University. Professor Stephen Morgan, Rector of USJ, also hosted a luncheon for the occasion to further discuss the details of future cooperation and the friendship between the two universities, during which the President Qiu invited Rector Morgan to visit the Jieyang Campus of Guangdong University of Technology.
Members of the USJ delegation attending the meeting included Professor Alexandre Lobo, Vice-Rector for Academic Research and Innovation, Dr. Teresa Loong, Vice-Rector for Student Life, Professor Carlos Sena Caires, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Professor George Du Wencai, Dean of the Institute for Data Engineering and Science, Professor Nuno Soares, Head of the Department of Architecture and Design, Mr. Ben Lei, Head of the Domestic Student Recruitment Office, and Mr. David Yang Chengdong.
