USJ held a Blind Walk for the world sight day on 10th October.
On 10 October 2019, the Office for Student and Alumni Affairs, together with Candle Light Macau and Caritas Macau, organised the Blind Walk 2019 on the World Sight Day. The objectives of this event were to draw the attention of the participants on the importance of taking good care of their sights, caring for the individuals with vision and encouraging to support cornea donations. Around 40 students, staff and volunteers were present and participants experienced the inconvenience and discomfort from loss of sights and gained more knowledge from Matthew, a visual-impaired social worker of Caritas Macau and USJ alumnus, on how to assist the visually impaired. It was indeed an unforgettable experience for the staff and students.
USJ is dedicated to promoting a caring, ethically responsible, economically, socially and environmentally sustainable society.
Volunteers from 5 countries joined the Blind Walk on 10 October in India, Dubai, Canada, Philippines and Macau to share the message and joined hands to support cornea donation.
