Cooperation Agreement Between the USJ Macao, the Municipality of Marinha Grande and the Marinha Grande Poente School Division

The three institutions will work together to promote activities and projects in three main areas of activity: Research, Teaching and Professional Training; Art, Culture and Tourism; Innovation and Economic and Social Development.
On 3 October 2024, the University of Saint Joseph (USJ Macao), the Municipality of Marinha Grande in Portugal, and the School Division of Marinha Grande Poente signed a cooperation agreement with the aim of providing the citizens of the Portuguese Municipality of Marinha Grande and Macao with opportunities and experiences aimed at their personal and professional development, particularly for high school graduates from the Municipality of Marinha Grande integrated and the academic community of USJ Macao.
The three institutions will work together to promote activities and projects in three main areas of activity: Research, Teaching and Professional Training; Art, Culture and Tourism; Innovation and Economic and Social Development.
Among many other activities, entrepreneurship workshops will be held for companies in the municipality of Marinha Grande, trade missions will be organised and a scholarship programme will be implemented, among many other cultural and scientific and academic activities.
The protocol was signed by the Vice-Rector of USJ for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs, Professor Álvaro Barbosa, the Mayor of Marinha Grande, Dr Aurélio Ferreira, and the Director of the Marinha Grande School Division, Professor Cesário Silva.
Professor Álvaro Barbosa also gave a lecture on ‘Macau and Portugal: a current relationship through academia’, which gave the audience, mostly students and teachers from schools in the municipality of Marinha Grande, a current view of Macao, the Greater Bay Area, and the role of higher education, particularly USJ Macao,

Protocolo entre a Universidade de São José, a Câmara Municipal da Marinha Grande e o Agrupamento de Escolas da Marinha Grande, Poente
No dia 3 de Outubro de 2024 a Universidade de São José, a Câmara Municipal da Marinha Grande e o Agrupamento de Escolas da Marinha Grande Poente assinaram um protocolo de cooperação com a finalidade de proporcionar aos cidadãos do Concelho da Marinha Grande e de Macau, oportunidades e experiências que visem o seu desenvolvimento pessoal e profissional, nomeadamente aos alunos finalistas do ensino secundário do Concelho da Marinha Grande integrados nos Agrupamentos de Escolas da Marinha Grande e à comunidade académica da Universidade de São José.
As três instituições irão trabalhar em conjunto na dinamização de atividades e projetos dentro de três grande áreas de atuação;Investigação, Ensino e Formação Profissional; Arte, Cultura e Turismo; Inovação e Desenvolvimento Económico e Social.
Entre muitas outras atividades serão realizadas workshops de empreendedorismo para as empresas do Concelho da Marinha Grande, organizadas missões comerciais e implementado um programa de bolsas de estudo, entre muitas outras também de âmbito cultural e científico.
O protocolo foi assinado pelo Vice-Reitor da Universidade de São José para a Internacionalização e Assuntos Académicos, Professor Álvaro Barbosa, pelo Presidente da Câmara Municipal da Marinha Grande, Dr. Aurélio Ferreira e pelo Diretor do Agrupamento de Escolas da Marinha Grande, Prof. Cesário Silva.
O Professor Álvaro Barbosa proferiu ainda uma conferência sobre “Macau e Portugal: uma relação atual através da academia” que permitiu ao público presente, na sua grande maioria alunos e professores das escolas do Concelho da Marinha Grande, ter uma visão atual de Macau, da Grande Baía e do papel do Ensino Superior nomeadamente da Universidade de São José.
