A delegation of the ISCAP-P.Porto conducted a courtesy visit to USJ’s Ilha Verde Campus in their first visit to Macao.
A delegation of the ISCAP-P.Porto led by Vice-Presidents Prof. Ana Bandeira, Prof. Manuela Patrício and Prof. Agostinho Sousa Pinto conducted a courtesy visit to the University of Saint Joseph’s (USJ) Ilha Verde Campus. The delegation was warmly received by USJ Vice-Rector for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs Prof. Álvaro Barbosa, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities Prof. Carlos Caires, Head of the Department of Languages and Culture Prof. Tânia Ribeiro Marques, and Manager of International Affairs Mrs. Ana Paula Mota.
The delegation members engaged in a thoughtful discussion surrounding the Portugal and Macao Higher Education landscape, the objectives and challenges of launching new diploma, bachelor and master degree programmes, as well as innovative programmes in the works and their projected learning outcomes. The ISCAP representatives also shared the intricacies of managing public funds and accreditation procedures, many of which echo the processes of USJ.
ISCAP-P.Porto and USJ have entered into an Memorandum of Understanding since 2017, and the two institutions anticipate propelling their joint-doctoral programme into fruition. Moreover, faculty exchange and student mobility in areas of Business, joint-degrees in Portuguese language studies and scholarship programmes will be favourable as upcoming undertakings of the partnership.
The visit concluded with a campus tour of the USJ studios and facilities, and delegation members from USJ anticipate visiting the new ISCAP campus in the near future to further conversations on mutual areas of interest and activities.
