The University of Saint Joseph’s Domingos Lam Centre for Research in Education (DLCRE) co-hosted two parent seminars with Macau Baptist College under the “Chinese Literacy Education and Research (CLEAR) Project”.
In December, the University of Saint Joseph’s (USJ) Domingos Lam Centre for Research in Education (DLCRE) co-hosted two parent seminars with Macau Baptist College under the “Chinese Literacy Education and Research (CLEAR) Project”. These seminars aimed to reduce parenting stress by supporting parents to understand their children’s language development and improve parent-child communication. Over 80 parents attended the seminars.
Instructed by Prof. Miranda Mak, Assistant Professor of the School of Education, the seminars covered useful tips on positive parent-child communication, techniques for parent-child shared reading, and strategies on enhancing child language development.
The non-profit CLEAR project, housed in USJ’s Bishop Domingos Lam Centre for Research in Education, supports early childhood Chinese literacy development. Since 2016, CLEAR has extensive experience in serving schools in Macao and has published a range of educational resources.
