DLCRE/GEGCLEAR Project Team participated in “The 7th Annual Conference for the Association for Reading and Writing in Asia” (AWRA 2023).
The research team of the Domingos Lam Centre for Research in Education (DLCRE) participated in the 7th Annual Conference for the Association for Reading and Writing in Asia (ARWA) on February 24, 2023. The Conference was hosted by The Education University of Hong Kong with over 100 scholars presented in this online event.
Ms. Tammy Chu Ka Wai, representing the ‘GEG Chinese Literacy Education and Research’ (CLEAR) Project team, presented a paper in an oral poster session titled ‘Developing Programs for Preschool Children to Enhance Chinese Literacy: A Macau-based Example’.
With Chinese as the major medium of instruction in Macau, it is essential for students to develop Chinese literacy skills to gain success in school. The GEGCLEAR project developed a series of Macau-based programs to support preschool students with different literacy needs, thus illustrating the importance of integrating theory, research and practice in program development.
