Head of the Department of Media, Art and Technology Prof. José Simões launches 12th book titled "A Chave"

Prof. José Manuel Simões, Coordinator of the Communication and Media programmes and Head of the Department of Media, Art and Technology of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at USJ Macao, has recently launch his 12th and latest book titled “A Chave” (“The Key”) on the 12th of June, 2024.



Prof. José Manuel Simões, Coordinator of the Communication and Media programmes and Head of the Department of Media, Art and Technology of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Macao, has recently launch his 12th and latest book titled “A Chave” (“The Key”). The book launch was held on the 12th of June, 2024, at the Rui Cunha Foundation.

A Chave is a portuguese fiction book released by Editora Media XXI which tells a story of betrayal and mismatches. The story mixes the reality and factual details of exotic Morocco with fantasies of long-distance relationships built on incisive online dialogues. Described as modern, vibrant, and featuring ravishing language, the book opens fascinating doors to travel literature.

The presentation session was attended by guest speakers Paulo Faustino, Founder and President of Media XXI,  João Francisco Pinto, former TDM Portuguese News and Program Controller and current TDM Advisor, and Jerusa Antunes, Communication and Public Relations Senior Officer at USJ.

Prof. Simões, who has been a part of the USJ community since 2008, is a prolific author with a global reach. He has published a total of 12 books, ranging from academic works, novels, musical book, and biographies, and has participated in conferences and academic committees across three continents. Prior to his academic career, he worked as a cultural journalist, focusing on cultural themes for best-selling Portuguese newspapers.
