ISE held another engaging environmental education event with the youth as part of their 2023 series of environmental education activities.
The Institute of Science and Environment‘s (ISE) team held a talk at Pui Ching Middle School on February 8, 2023, as part of the Plastic Pollution and Mangroves Talk and Exhibition series to further community involvement in environmental protection.
This event involved a presentation about Plastic Pollution and how Mangroves can help solve related pollution issues, followed by a very interactive Q&A session. In addition, the Plastic Pollution and Mangrove exhibition also provides a more visual way to understand and learn.
Commenting on the activity, Prof. Karen Tagulao said that “it was inspiring to see students of all ages discussing these issues and their passion for the environment. We (ISE) hope that students now and in the future continue to learn and assist in protecting Macao’s environment!”.
This series of environmental education events are organised within the context of the projects “CTW/2022 – Wetland ecosystems: a nature-based solution for coastal protection and plastic pollution entrapment in Macao” and “FDCT0004/2019/AP – PlastiFish: Methods, effects and risk analysis of microplastics in fish production”.
