Macau Spin Incubator Expands Network through Visits to Macao Government and Consulates in Macao SAR

Macau Spin Incubator visited the Economic and Technological Development Bureau of the Macao Government, the Consulate General of Angola, and the Consulate General of Mozambique in Macao SAR. The purpose was to introduce and share the resources and the know-how, fostering potential collaboration opportunities.
Recently, members of the board of directors of Macau Spin Incubator and the Rector of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) embarked on a journey of visits to the Economic and Technological Development Bureau (DSEDT) of the Macao Government, the Consulate General of Angola, and the Consulate General of Mozambique. The aim of these visits was to introduce the unique services and advantages of the Macau Spin Incubator, which is designed to provide comprehensive assistance in various areas of capacity building with services, including mentoring, consultancy, and networking events opportunities, are all geared towards fostering collaboration between entities and enterprises in the Greater Bay Area and the Portuguese Speaking Countries, offering a wealth of unique opportunities for growth and development.
During the visits, USJ’s Rector expressed his hope that the Incubator, part of the USJ, would stimulate the talents and ideas of students, including international students from Portuguese-speaking countries. This commitment to students’ development underscores the value USJ places on their contributions and growth, reinforcing the idea of “one center, one platform”.
Participants of these visits: Rector of USJ, Rev. Prof. Stephen Morgan, Vice-Rector, Prof Álvaro Barbosa, President of the Macau Spin Board of Directors and other members of the Macau Spin Board, namely Mr. Bruno Nunes, Founder of BN Lawyers, Prof. Jenny Phillips, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Law, Mr. Marco Rizzolio, Founder of Follow Me Macau and Mrs Ana Paula Mota, Manager of the International Affairs Office of USJ.
The representatives of the Economic and Technological Development Bureau of the Macao Government during the visit and meeting, include Mr Lei Chon Kit, Head of the Technology Industry promotion division, and Mr Pong Kai Fu, Deputy director of DSEDT.

The representatives of the Consulate General of Angola in Macao SAR during the visit and meeting, include the Consul General, Mr. Eduardo Galiano, Vice-Consul, Mrs Teresa dos Santos, Consular Affairs assistants, Mr. Paulo da Silva and Mrs Joaquina Cosme.

The representatives of the Consulate General of Mozambique in Macao SAR during the visit and meeting include, the Consul General, Mr. Rafael Custódio Marques and Vice-Consul, Mr Aurélio Chiconela.

The potential partnership between these entities and the Macau Spin Incubator would open up a wide range of collaborative opportunities, particularly within the Portuguese-speaking customer base, facilitating the transfer of technology and expertise and further advancing the growth of the scientific and technological industry. USJ Macao and Macau Spin Incubator are unwavering in their commitment to establishing global partnerships that provide innovative educational opportunities for young individuals, prospective business owners, and the general public.

Macau Spin Incubator (Macau Spin) is an incubator center established by the USJ Macao in partnership with BN Lawyers and Mr Marco Rizzolio. The incubator is a project under the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL) at USJ Macao, which serves as a platform for startups from Portuguese Speaking Countries to incubate in Macao and be bridged to incubators in the Greater Bay Area and vice-versa.
