In order to promote mental health awareness and well-being in the community, in line with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good health and well-being, the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) has been organising a series of activities open to the wider community.
These activities have included open lectures about perceptions of people with autism spectrum disorders, with presentations in the USJ campus and in the Macao Science Center; a press conference about the prevalence of depression in Macao and strategies to address it; or the participation in an international webinar with a presentation about children use of time, focusing on the increasing time in front of screens and reduction of physical activity during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Other activities have targeted specifically helping professionals, with the provision of webinars and translation of resources to local languages, providing practical exercises to reduce disaster-related stress and enhance coping skills for parents, adults, and children in the wake of the pandemic.
With these activities USJ hopes to contribute to a more healthy and resilient society. Kindly check out our past and upcoming event in this and other areas in our events page.
