To encourage students to prepare for their final exams and ease the pressure of studying, USJ hosted the “Exam Support Station” for two consecutive days to spread positive energy.

To encourage students to prepare for their final exams and relieve their stress, the Office for Student and Alumni Affairs (OSAA) of USJ hosted the “Exam Support Station” for two days to spread positivity and foster a learning atmosphere on campus. In addition to sharing drinks and snacks, the activity also included the redemption of Mother’s Day gifts for students to remind them to thank their families for supporting them in their studies.

The event was held on the 8th and 9th of May at the USJ Ilha Verde Campus. Ms Jenny Lam, Head of the Office for Student and Alumni Affairs (OSAA), said that USJ has always been committed to organising diverse campus activities to actively engage students of different ages. With the final exams approaching, USJ continues the tradition of organising similar activities as previously, providing a cheering station to help students from both day and evening classes relax and promote student well-being. In this way, we can better understand their learning needs and provide more appropriate support. Ms Lam also mentioned that this year’s Mother’s Day gifts were handmade by the dedicated staff of USJ, sending care and blessings to all the students.

Micah Vibar, a Year-3 BBA student from the Philippines, commented that experiencing this type of event, particularly during exam week, allows students to feel supported during their stressful studies with a simple act. It was enough to keep them motivated, and it was a pleasant experience to spend it with the other students. She was also amazed at how this event remembered her mother through some beautiful keychain, especially since Mother’s Day is approaching. She hopes that similar events will continue to be held to support all students.

Miguel Tang, an evening class student of the Bachelor of Portuguese-Chinese Translation, believes that through this “Support Station” event, in addition to relieving stress, evening programme students can have a better understanding of the support and services provided by the Office for Student and Alumni Affairs of USJ.
