Professor Wah K. Cheng of the Faculty of Humanities recently gave a talk on “The Challenges of Education on Chinese Traditional History and Culture in the Greater Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Bay Area and Insights from the Liberal Arts Model of Teaching and Learning 大灣區中華歷史文化教育的挑戰與博雅教育模式的啟示” at the Symposium on Chinese Traditional Culture Education in the Greater Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Bay Area held at the University of Macau on 26th-27th November 2017. Hosted by the Center for Chinese History and Culture at the University of Macau, the Symposium brought nearly 40 scholars, educators, and academic leaders from various institutions of higher learning in Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macau to exchanges ideas and research results on the teaching and advancement of traditional Chinese culture in the Greater Bay Area. One prominent result of the Symposium was the passage and adoption of the Founding Charter of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Association for Education on Chinese Traditional Culture (GHMA) 粵港澳大灣區中華傳統文化教育大聯盟. Professor Cheng is a member of the GHMA Council.
