SED Hosts Public Lecture on “Academic Integrity in Creative Writing”

The lecture was delivered by Prof. Jianrong SUN, Vice-President of Xi’an Eurasia University.



On 7 April, the School of Education (SED) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) hosted a public lecture entitled “Academic Integrity in Creative Writing – The Academic Debate on Text Regeneration”. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Jianrong SUN, Vice-President of Xi’an Eurasia University, and was moderated by Prof. Hao WU, Assistant Professor and Research Coordinator for the School of Education. Around 46 participants attended this lecture. 

As a specialist in higher education assessment and literary studies, Prof. Sun explored the practice and challenges of maintaining academic integrity in creative writing. This led participants to have profound reflection and in-depth discussion about how to balance creative writing with academic rules. He also provided participants with valuable academic insights and new directions for considering integrity practices in the field of creative writing.

Prof. Sun was also warmly welcomed by Prof. Isabel Tchiang, Acting Dean of the School of Education, for future collaborations.&;
