Social Work Students Participated in the Celebration of the 35th Anniversary of AMHA

On May 22, 2021, Year 1 students of the Bachelor of Social Work Programme joined the celebration event of the 35th anniversary of the Macau Association for the Mentally Handicapped (AMHA) at Iao Han Park.
On May 22, 2021, seven Year 1 students of the Bachelor of Social Work Programme joined the celebration event of the 35th anniversary of the Macau Association for the Mentally Handicapped (AMHA) at Iao Han Park. Social Work Department of USJ was one of the co-organisers, and was in charge of one game booth for fundraising purpose. During the event, the students developed two fun games which attracted hundreds of participants.
The AMHA was founded in 1986, and for 35 years, the AMHA has been focusing on assisting the mentally handicapped population in Macau to fit into society with Special Educational Needs, community and casework service of social work, and the goal to erase discrimination against the mentally disabled people in Macau. AMHA has been a strong supporter of USJ social work department, by providing the students guest talks, field visits, and fieldwork placements.
