The Department of Social Work of the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) of USJ organised a training workshop for teachers of Escola Choi Nong Chi Tai on May 11, aiming to improve teachers’ understanding about how to approach students with special needs and how to use a caring perspective as a means of communication in order to better respond to the needs of the students and their parents.

The training workshop was conducted for kindergarten and primary level teachers by Senior Lecturer Ms. Stella O, Lai San and Guest Teacher Ms. Angel Mak,Tin Weng from the Department of Social Work of FHS. During the workshop, they shared their practical experience and professional knowledge, and provided systematic and practical training contents through case studies and group discussions. Participating teachers were also encouraged to share their past experiences and perspectives, and to think together about more possibilities and solutions for communicating with students and parents. This interactive and knowledge-sharing environment enriched the content of the workshop and made it more relevant to the actual needs of the teachers.

The Department of Social Work at FHS-USJ has always been committed to supporting community education and has worked with various sectors to provide professional training and support to different schools. Recognising that the experience and wisdom of teachers is a valuable resource, the Department actively promotes exchange and sharing among teachers in our training workshops to provide more comprehensive and valuable training content.
