The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) and Associação Lusófona de Arbitragem e Mediação (ALAM) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) and Associação Lusófona de Arbitragem e Mediação (ALAM) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the commitment of the collaborative partnership for enhancing quality in executive and technical education, as well as applied research and development.

The MoU was signed by the Rector of USJ, Professor Stephen Morgan, and President of ALAM, Dr Bruno Nunes, on the 9th April, 2025 at the Ilha Verde campus.

The two institutions have been collaborating on webinars on alternative dispute resolution in Portuguese-speaking countries since 2022, and last October, USJ and ALAM successfully co-hosted the First Lusophone Arbitration Congress, which received great participation of over 100 delegates from China, Macao SAR, Hong Kong SAR, Portuguese-speaking countries, and the United Kingdom. This event marked a milestone in promoting dialogue and cooperation within the sino-lusophone arbitration community.

Both USJ and ALAM are committed to continuing their efforts to provide high-quality educational and informative events that benefit Macao, China, and Portuguese-speaking countries in the field of arbitration.
