(USJ) and (MFTU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2022, to navigate the new direction of future social services in Macao.
The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) and Macau Federation of Trade Unions (MFTU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday, November 22nd, 2022, to navigate the new direction of future social services in Macao. The MoU was signed by the Vice-Rector of USJ, Prof. Zhang Shuguang, and the Vice-President of the Macau Federation of Trade Unions, Mr. Leong Wai Fong, witnessed by the Vice President of MFTU Mr. Fong Ka Fai, and the Dean of Faculty of Health Sciences Professor Jacky Ho.
Vice-Rector Zhang said that USJ hopes to work closely with MFTU to explore a new era of social service development, to adopt technology and big data analytics for achieving precision care that is person-centered and individualized, building professional capacity through education and training, to better serve our community.
Vice President of MFTU Mr. Leong Wai Fong feels confident of this partnership to explore projects in the area of gerontechnology application and care, dementia prevention and services, and early childhood education, and to provide evidence-based and constructive feedback on policy to the Macau SAR Government. In addition, preparing for service development capacity in Greater Bay Area through professional training programs would be an important milestone through this partnership.
The MoU was signed in the presence of the members of the MFTU, including the Director of Childcare Service Ms. Leong Meng Ian, the Director of Community Service Ms. Chio Lan Ieng, and the Director of Elderly Service Ms. Ieong Sok Chong. Attendees from USJ include the Research Coordinator of FHS Prof. Helen Liu, Prof. Jayson Lou, and Prof. Leona Ng.
