Vice-rector for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs Prof. Álvaro Barbosa visits Hanoi University and Ventures for Innovative Collaboration in Portuguese Studies on on June 18, 2024.
Vice-rector for Internationalisation and Academic Affairs Prof. Álvaro Barbosa embarked on a courtesy visit to Hanoi University (Trường Đại học Hà Nội) on June 18, 2024. Warmly received by Dr. Nguyễn Vũ Thu Hà, Dean of the Department of Portuguese Studies at Hanoi University, the group engaged in an auspicious meeting exploring areas of potential collaboration, including joint research, academic exchange, student mobility, study tours and more. USJ and Hanoi University particularly share resources and objectives for the promotion of Portuguese language studies and its global relevance, with plans for increasing opportunities in Portuguese language training and intellectual exchange.
The visit acts as an important step towards deepening the understanding of the institutions’ features and pillars, allowing for further dialogues and establishing a mutually beneficial partnership as USJ continues to engage in internationalisation initiatives and strengthen its commitment to provide a globalised education as a university with strong ties to the Portuguese-speaking world.
Hanoi University is one of the oldest higher education institutions in the capital city of Vietnam, offering multi-disciplinary programmes at both undergraduate and graduate levels delivered in foreign languages. Their Portuguese Studies Department was founded in 2004 and has been the only institute in Vietnam that offers full-time Portuguese Studies with a portfolio of dynamic faculty members from various Portuguese-speaking countries and are committed to their pedagogical career.
