USJ Faculty of Business and Law signs MoU with Guizhou Education University's Business School

The Faculty of Business and Law of USJ and the Business School Guizhou Education University signed a MoI for collaboration in research, staff and students mobility and sharing of teaching materials.
On the 27th of November 2024, the Faculty of Business and Law (FBL) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) and the Business School (BS) Guizhou Education University (GEU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding for collaboration in research, staff and students mobility and sharing of teaching materials.
The MoU was signed by the Dean of USJ FBL, Prof Jenny Phillips and the Dean of GEU BS, Prof Huang Dan, and witnessed by USJ Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation, Prof. Alexandre Lobo, and professors from both institutions.
After the signing ceremony, Faculty members from both Universities discussed actions to be taken to begin the collaboration. During the meeting, both parties agreed to co-develop a Research Centre for International Trade and Investment focusing on China (Guizhou) and Portuguese-speaking countries. The two parties also discussed developing study tours for students of GEU to Macau and from USJ to Guizhou to understand both cities’ business and national culture. The attendees of the meeting, Professors from both sides, also agree to co-organised seminars and conferences in Guizhou and Macau for exchange between our professors and sharing of teaching materials.
The signing ceremony and the meeting were attended by Prof Alexandre Lobo, USJ Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation; Prof Sergio Gomes, USJ-FBL Head of the Department of Business Administration; Mr David Yang, USJ Head of Institutional Development Office; and USJ MBA Alumni and FBL Visiting Academic Ms. Karen Ao. From the Business School of GEU, the Vice Dean of BS, Prof. Xie Jian; Deputy Party Secretary, Ms Zhang Jing; Head of the Department of Credit Management, Prof. Kang Zhen Yu; Head of the Department of Business Administration, Prof. Tian Fen; and other Faculty members also joined the discussion. The meeting resulted in a few action plans to be concretised in the coming months.
