On 9 October, the Faculty of Health Sciences (FHS) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) was invited to speak on the topic of “How to Coexist with Stress”, which was attended by around 150 teachers from the Colégio Mateus Ricci. Prof Jacky Ho and Stella O led the participants through a series of exercises aimed at improving physical and mental well-being, discussing the causes of stress, engaging in constructive dialogue with their emotions, and helping teachers build resilience to face challenges effectively.
During the sharing, participants recognised the significant pressures facing young people today and emphasised the need for teachers to prioritise their own wellbeing in order to better support their students. The need for family level interventions to create a nurturing environment was highlighted. FHS is fully committed to working with and supporting the community in raising awareness of mental health and encouraging collective action for improvement.
