USJ-IDEAS Works Showcased at "2023 Science and Technology Week 2023 and Exhibition of Achievements in Science and Technology Innovation"

USJ’s Institute of Data Engineering and Science showcased 3 exhibitions namely “Intelligent Internet-based Elderly Home Healthcare Platform”, “IOT-based Elderly Home Healthcare Platform” and “Depression-assisted diagnosis platform based on multimodal data”, at the “2023 Science and Technology Week and Innovation Achievements Exhibition”.
The “2023 Science and Technology Week and Innovation Achievements Exhibition”, organised by the Science and Technology Development Fund (FDCT), and supported by the Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China, kicked-off on October 19th, 2023, at The Venetian Macao. The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) was one of the co-organisers in this event.
The Expo attracted 131 exhibitors and set up more than 200 booths. It consisted of three exhibition areas, focusing on technology and innovation companies, the transformation of research outcomes, and the promotion of research achievements. Supporting events, such as the Industry-University-Research Collaboration Roadshow and Matching Session between Mainland and Macao, “Innotech China” Technology Roadshow, Scientific Research Projects Result Exhibition and Academic Report in 2022 and 2023 Macao Innovation and Technology Forum, were held during the exhibition to stimulate technological progress and innovation in Macao so as to build up a platform for the transformation of technological achievements and collaboration between industries, universities and research institutions in Macao.
Dean of the Institute of Data Engineering and Science (IDEAS) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ), Prof. George Du Wencai, demonstrated three innovation achievements of IDEAS at the Expo, namely “Intelligent Internet-based Elderly Home Healthcare Platform”, “IOT-based Elderly Home Healthcare Platform” and “Depression-assisted diagnosis platform based on multimodal data” during the opening of the exhibition.
IDEAS at USJ actively engages in industry-university-research cooperation, and in recent years has established six joint research and development laboratories with enterprises and research institutions to promote innovation achievements.
The three IDEAS’ exhibitions attracted many entrepreneurs and investors, including general manager of Panasonic Northeast Asia, general manager of Shenzhen Qianhai Whale Health Technology Co., LTD., general manager of Shenwei Technology Holdings (Shenzhen) Co., LTD., general manager of Henan Xishaosan Biological Co., LTD., Partner of Zhuhai Digital Power, Jingcheng Capital, President of Qiniu Pharmaceutical and local entrepreneurs.
